Some games have atmosphere and then there's Alien: Isolation. Creative Assembly managed to recreate the cloaustrohpic feeling first introdcued by the alien movies. Being stalked by Xenomorph never looked so good.

Content aside, Destiny is a beautiful game. Vistas and skyboxes that draw praise from even the most jaded gamer, Bungie's vision was on full display when Destiny was released for the PS4/XBONE. Here's hoping Destiny 2 looks even better.

While running at a steady 60 FPS on the weakest hardware this generation, Mario Kart 8 managed to dazzle gamers with graphics and colors unmatched by any major title this year. No brown and bloom here, just the classic Nintendo palette that oozes simplicity and charm.

Snake's chiseled ass in glorious 1080P, what else is there in life? How about a constantly changing weather system and a graphics engine that makes us feel like we're one step closer to touching Snake's grizzly face.

Built using 60's era Ukranian satelite hardware, Metro Redux is a beautiful return to the underground world of the Metro universe. The fog on your visor, the shadows in the tunnels, those hideous Ukranian women. 4A games knows how make a gorgeous game.

South Park: The Stick of Truth is one of those few licensed titles that actually nail the graphics department right on the head. Gone is the stigma that came with South Park Rally, and in comes what appears to be a 6 to 9 hour interactive episode.

Who would have thought the brightly colored world of Sunset Overdrive would resonate with the Xbox crowd? It's this aesthetic choice that puts Sunset Overdrive heads and shoulders above the standard fare being released on Microsoft's Master Chief TV converter.

Another rock solid release for the WiiU, SSBWU runs at a blistering 60FPS while updating classic characters with new models that make it pleasing to the eye as your failed main gets launched across the level. Stage design is also standout as the levels always feel bustling but never busy, adding to the charm of this classic Nintendo franchise.
Super Smash Bros for 3DS & Wii U
Sora Ltd. & Bandai Namco Games
Once again Supergiant thrives on a colorful palette and how to work their games graphics. Downplaying a bit the "chibi" style of Bastion, Transistor just is a really gorgeous and uses its effects for great effect and light and colors to create a nice atmosphere.

Eschewing from the typical look of futuristic sci-fi shooters, MachineGames' take on alternate reality was one that was praised by both critics and consumers alike. BJ Blastowicz girthy neck makes this the best looking Wolfenstein to date.
