A wonky motivation and basically no backstory make Aiden Pearce about as engaging as, well...Aiden Pearce. He's the new standard for boring protagonists.

The evil counterpart trope has been done to death, and wasn't even that good in KI: Uprising. Why Sakurai felt the need to make such a blatant clone a part of the roster is beyond me.

Lightning needs to be louder, angrier, and have access to a time machine. Whenever Lightning isn't on the screen, somebody should be asking, "Where's Lightning?"

Sera and her hideously misshapen face and body, prove that an Elf truly is good for one thing, and one thing only: Firewood.

These characters are so out-of-character, that even Sonic Team makes fun of them. We agree; once you hand the keys of a beloved franchise over to a third party, the series usually goes downhill. We can't even include Knuckles' face now because he's such a tall motherfucker.
