Second verse, same as the first. There's nothing really new to the Assassin's Creed series. Still the same "defend until you counter" combat, benign parkour controls, and for an extra twist, some of the most hilarious, yet horrifying bugs in video game history. Truly a work of art. Bravo, Ubisoft.

Taking a decade to reach such challenging gameplay mechanics as dashing and double jump isn't supposed to be an achievement.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
Sledgehammer Games
Destiny is the game of broken promises, setting a standard for overhyped shooters that not even Dead Island can match. We were promised the Bayonetta to Bungie's Devil May Cry, Halo. What we got was a bog-standard MMOFPS with a gear grind so tedious people were willing to spend hours shooting into a cave rather than play the actual game. The one thing it did right for gameplay, the only thing, was good queue times, but that doesn't make up for lousy gameplay, even by MMO standards.

Still handling half way between one of the poorer Dynasty Warriors entries and the first Mass Effect title, DA:I manages to spead what RPG 'elements' it has very thin indeed, faltering in giving combat a much needed update and only suceeding in hiding some of the more boring times the series has laden on to players.
Dragon Age: Inquisition
Bioware
Sitting on your ass and pushing buttons are two your main action in the game. Let that soak in for a moment.

Goat Simulator's bad gameplay may be the joke, but it's still bad gameplay. As funny as it may be to fling your goat across three city blocks into a car, it encourages bad game design and seems to have been made explicitly for streamers/Let's Players. This should not be encouraged.

You start out dying every ten minutes unless you're sneaky, but at some point, you're immortal and all you need to do is your basic three-action combo. It doesn't help much that the final boss is practically a quicktime event.
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor
Monolith Productions
A bad Sonic game? No way. I can't believe this! Sonic Boom breaks new ground for bad Sonic games, where the platforming is bland and empty, and the game tries to be about brawling and puzzle-solving with Sonic's new Grapple Beam. While the classic Sonic gameplay is inoffensively bland, the new stuff Rise of Lyric pushes is tedious at best, broken at worst - there's a speedrun that uses a glitch to skip 90% of the game.
Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric
Big Red Button Entertainment
There's no way this was gonna turn out good and everyone involved knew it. ZeniMax let people go in expecting multiplayer Skyrim. They got the usual sandbox MMO with sandbox MMO "kill five bears" quests that half the time don't work, an economy that goes between dead and broken, depending on whether the current exploit's been found or fixed, and basically no endgame content worth a damn.
The Elder Scrolls Online
Zenimax Media
Watch_Dogs: The epitome of lies in video games. When initially unveiled, it was met with ecstatic praise, even by /v/ itself, no simple task. However as time went on, Ubisoft pulled a Ubisoft, and delivered awful gameplay, buggy world mechanics, boring story, and purposefully downgraded graphics options. In the end, Watch_Dogs failed to deliver on all aspects people had been hyped for.
